During a working session with Dr. Friedhelm Frischenschlager, former Austrian Minister of Defence, held on May 8 in Hanoi, delegates discussed the potential for cooperation between Vietnam and Austria. Organized by the Vietnam-Austria Friendship Association and the Austrian Embassy in Vietnam, the event opened up numerous opportunities for collaboration in the economic, educational, and cultural sectors.

A preliminary rehearsal for the military parade commemorating the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War (May 9, 1945 – May 9, 2025) took place at Red Square in Moscow, the capital of Russia on May 4. Hundreds of overseas Vietnamese, including students, gathered early along the avenue leading to the square to welcome the Vietnamese military contingent.

On April 30, in Ho Chi Minh City, Do Van Chien, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, and Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, met with an international delegation comprising individuals who had supported Vietnam during its resistance war for national independence and reunification. Organized by the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations, the event marked the delegation’s visit to Vietnam in honor of the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification.

This is the message conveyed through the exchange "Time for peace: Writing the next chapter," held by the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO) in partnership with the Peace Boat Organization and two esteemed Nobel Peace Prize-winning organizations—the Nihon Hidankyo and the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN) in Ha Long City (Quang Ninh Province) on April 30.
